Clinical Trials
The Montana Cancer Institute conducts ongoing clinical trials for many types of cancer, including breast, prostate, colorectol, follicular lymphoma, renal cell, lung, and other cancer diagnoses. The MCIF clinical trials component is a highly active, aggressive program that continuously seeks and conducts trials involving state-of-the-art experimental treatments for cancer patients. Working with the Montana Cancer Consortium and other active cancer consortiums, the MCIF is able to offer patients a very large selection of trials and investigational treatments.
Research Studies Available as of January 2008
- Trial for multiple-relapsed breast cancer using a investigational new product that inhibits tubulin production of tumors. This is a trial for patients whom have failed between 2 and 5 chemotherapy regimens. (currently recruiting for patients) http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00388726?term=eisai+305&rank=1
- Trial for metastatic non-small cell lung cancer involving 3 standard treatment chemotherapy options PLUS a biologic oral agent to maintain the reponse to treatment. (currently recruiting for patients)
http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00257608?term=atlas&rank=8 - Trial for control of breakthrough cancer pain using sublingual form of a commonly used opiate. Designed to supplement the patient’s current pain control medication. (currently recruiting for patients)
http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00538850?term=insys&rank=2 - Trial for a blood disorder called HyperEosinophillic Syndrome. This is a very rare disorder, with limited treatment options. Almost everyone with this disorder would qualify for this study. (currently recruiting for patients)
http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00244686?term=HES&rank=4 - Trial for small cell lung cancer using standard chemotherapy plus a biologic agent to enhance and prolong response to the chemotherapy. (currently recruiting for patients)
http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00403403?term=SALUTE&rank=1 - Trial for untreated metastatic melanoma using a experimental biologic treatment with or without standard treatment. (currently recruiting for patients)
http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00533702?term=imclone+cp12-0604&rank=1 - Trial for metastatic colorectal cancer involving standard treatment chemotherapy options PLUS a biologic oral agent to maintain the reponse to treatment. (currently recruiting for patients)
Weblink to come when available -
Trial for relapsed multiple myeloma using standard Velcade plus a biologic agent to enhance and prolong response to the chemotherapy. (currently recruiting for
patients)
